Rafting and paragliding events in Palpa
Palpa is hosting river rafting and paragliding events for roping in the foreign tourists during the Visit Nepal Year 2020. Rafting in Kaligandaki River along with paragliding in Rampur of Palpa will be organised on March 7.
Rampur Town Tourism Promotion Board will organise a week-long rafting excursion in Kaligandaki and paragliding from Bahundanda as well as an observation tour of various religious and tourism sites. The target is to bring in minimum 500 foreign tourists in Rampur during the Visit Nepal Year.
Board Coordinator and Rampur Municipality Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa said, “We have planned to attract maximum number of foreign tourists during the VNY-2020.” He said that Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) provided an assistance of Rs 500 thousand for the tourism events. The rafting will be operated in Kaligandaki River from Malungadham bordering between Syangja and Palpa.
A cultural programme featuring tradition and costumes of ethnic communities in Rampur will be held at Bhujat, Siddhababadham. Arrangements for observation of the Ram Temple, Lord Ram’s hearth, Ramjanaki Temple, Ramche View Tower and other heritage sites are underway. Preparation was underway to make more foreign tourists visit Rampur. To visit Rampur in a package, one can book ticket before deadline.
On April 19 and 20, 2019, Rampur had organised grand Kaligandaki rafting festival from Malungadham to Bhujat and Siddhababadham to Puttarghat. Sanubabu Sunuwar and his team had made a successful test flight of paragliding from Bahundanda of Rampur-6. After successfully landing 6 paragliding flights at Kisanbari playground and Losdi, the municipality began commercial paragliding.
