Newly appointed Tourism Minister, Yogesh Bhattarai addresses major issues in his acceptance speech
Yogesh Bhattarai was appointed the new Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on July 31. After the appointment and oath taking ceremony a welcome programme was organised for Honorable Minister Yogesh Bhattarai.
In his welcome speech, Minister Bhattarai said that he would focus on fulfilling people’s aspirations upholding the country’s dignity. He further said, “I will begin discussions from tomorrow on activities that would help our country face the challenges ahead of us to ensure success.”
He informed that after a few days he would sign a contract of service with the Prime Minister and begin work accordingly. He further said, “I’m here not to order others but to work and learn. The National Pride Project under the Ministry and Visit Nepal Year 2020 will be made successful.”
Honouring his political colleague and former Tourism Minister, Rabindra Adhikari, who lost his life in a tragic helicopter crash on February 27, Minister Bhattarai said, “I have come as his successor to this Ministry and will carry out and complete the important initiatives that the late Minister Adhikari took.”
Moreover, the newly appointed Minister further said that in case of the construction of the National Pride Projects such as Pokhara Regional International Airport and Gautam Buddha Regional International Airport which are far behind the scheduled time. The progress rate of these projects will be discussed and efforts will be made to solve these problems and complete it on time.
In regard to the Nepal Airlines Corporation having received a lot of criticism on their management, he announced, “We will work on improvement of Nepal Airlines and discussions will be forwarded.” Priorities such as upgrading the domestic airports will also be forwarded.
