60 ft tall hill station tower at Sindhupalchowk
Lisangkhupakhar Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk District is going to have a 60 feet tall hill station tower. It aims to attract a large number of tourists to meet the target of Visit Nepal Year 2020.
“Bagmati State government will provide Rs 88 million for this project and its deadline is 2 years. A detailed project report is all ready,” said Kamal Nepal, Municipality Chairperson. “A children park, garden, picnic spot and lodges will also be constructed at the project site. It will cover an area of around 40 ropanis,” he asserted.
Minister for Tourism, Industry, Forest and Environment of the state, Arun Nepal recently laid a foundation stone for this project amid a function. It is situated at an altitude of 2,500 metre above sea level. One can enjoy sightseeing of Sailung, Kalinchowk Temple, Gaurishankar Mountain peak and Jugal mountain range from here.
The first Mount Everest climbers, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norge Sherpa had used the route through this area on their expedition to climb Everest in 1953.
