Construction of the 108 feet high World Peace Kalash (traditional Nepali water jar) is underway in Sarbasiddidham Panchakot, Baglung. The foundation for the Kalash was laid by then Prime Minister Sushil Koirala five years back.
The work resumed on Saturday with a Bhumi Puja (worshipping of the soil). The Kalash is being constructed at a total cost of Rs 320 million, with the use of copper and iron, according to Chair of the Panchakot Development Committee Rishi Prapannacharya. Many more structures along with a 5,555 kg bell are also being constructed in the premises that spreads over an area of around 100 ropani.
